Oh so you are using QEMU or Proxmox ? Then USB is fine as long as it is listed correctly with fdisk -l inside DSM installation

 

After you get this message telnet is started. You can telnet and check

I'm using Unraid, which is Qemu I believe.

 

When I run fdisk -l I don't see the USB, I only see the disk with 1 and 00 setting.

Its is not required. For a fresh system you can start building 7.1.0-42661 from TC. If you have a system already running with 7.0.1 or 7.1.42621 then you can use the post update

it failed at 41% for me for TSU yesterday; but fine with fresh 7.0.1 first then upgraded to 7.1.
will try fresh 7.1 (TSU) in another NAS box; will try it to install the pat from synology and not from the cache.

Yes it failed yesterday on a fresh install DS3622xs+ on a physical system and then i did some research and found something new and i think i've fixed that. I tried today after the new fix and it went fine.

Is this going to be the normal procedure moving forward? Like, if 7.2 comes out will we always have to do a two step update or will there be a way to update manually via the GUI without accessing TC?

I'm afraid no one knows until we see it ... but TSU will most likely work

Not building for fresh system from TC for for DVA3221.

I'm considering migrating from DS918+ to DS3622xs+ for various reasons and recommendations I've seen in this thread.

 

DSM is currently at 7.0.1-42218U3. TCRP is 0.4.5. Hardware is in my sig.

 

Are these the correct steps for migrating an existing DS918+/7.0.1-42218U3 to DS3622xs+/7.0.1-42218U3?

 

1. Backup all data

2. Create a new USB loader with TCRP 0.4.6 from pocopico github

3. Remove existing USB loader and boot with new USB loader

4. Select Tiny Core Image Build during boot

5. Run following commands

 

./rploader.sh update now
./rploader.sh fullupgrade now
./rploader.sh clean now

./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+
./rploader.sh identifyusb now
./rploader.sh satamap now

./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218

 

I'm guessing that DSM will do it's own migration when I access DSM after the reboot.

 

Once I have a successful migration to DS3622xs+/7.0.1-42218U3 I'll be considering the upgrade to DSM7.1 and am guessing that would be the two step update but I'm not sure what the sequence of events/commands would be for that.

Check if yout ime setting are okay.

I had this issue once, when done a time setting all was fine.

You can use the sync button.

Before I posted the last message I ran this and then I encountered the error it' new  I haven't seen this before.....

I tryed it with

 

/rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-misc/rpext-index.json

 

 

Works fine build is clean

if you don’t have nvidia GPU you have to comment out some files. Also if you run this on older CPU there is another thing you need to comment
