same to me...

Build the Boot Loader with TCRP is working but Boot into DSM with TCRP Friend => no IP

Tried with TCRP w/o Friend and same result. Most likely DSM 7.0 does not like something about the old hardware. A note that yesterday I have upgraded 4 servers from 6.2.3 to 7.1.1 without a hitch using TCRP Friend, except this one.

Ds3622, dsm 7.1

Well I was able to sort my own issue. By using sataport map of 22 and disk Id of 00.

ps. Would some have any pointers for me to get hw transcoding to work under ds918,dsm 7.1 setup. Using real Mac and serial. Even have synologys advanced media codec pack installed and activated.

I seem to be missing the /dev/dri directory.

Got the same Machine, but I am on ESXi patched with Realtek NIC Drivers. Makes life easier.

Did you know this supports NVMe and a 2,5“ SATA Drive with adapting the Ports of WiFi Card and SATA Drive?

Baremetal…don’t know. If you’d like to know more about gettin on ESXi with S740, I’ll help surely.

i did it, dont know what was wrong and tried this

.rploader.sh build ds920p-7.1.1-42962

Maybe there was a gap too much, i have no clue.

Found the correct line with a 2422+ from peter suh and changed it to 920p and bootloader was creating :)

Hi Kaneske

j heard about. But the nvme is just running on pcie x1 on the wifi port?!

How does it work with ESXi?

Quite good. The NVMe hosts the VMs and DataStorages for the VMs and I got an 2TB 2,5“ SSD passthrough‘ed to my XPenology VM.

Runs well and gives benefits that VMWare XPEN has. Flexibility.

Hey guys, its been awhile... I have been running this build for several months now without problem. but lately my Drive 8 have been crashing non-stop.
I have already Replace the drive with brand new ones many times (4 to be exact). and everytime I try to repair the Storagepool, It either crashes or say system partition failed. What else can I do? short of have to remount the whole thing, I got pretty much 10TB of data so far. would hate to loose all that!

edit: the version Im running is not the same as my signature, it is DSM 7.1-42661

Check all your cables. Make sure you SATA and power connectors and cables are good and have a solid connection.

This has happened to me before but with only one drive and a bad connection was the blame.

If you are able to secure the cables near the drive with tie straps to eliminate any movement.

Replacing 4 x 4tb hard drives in a couple months is expensive to do and if they keep crashing,(especially the same port) there has to be a hardware problem.

Its very unlikely that all the drives are faulty so either your mobo is faulty or the 4 port PCI SATA controller is faulty. Either way, BACKUP, BACKUP, did I say BACKUP?

Does your motherboard have two PCI slots? If so have you tried swapping the controller to the other slot?

You have to move the second to a new controller. To do so, click advanced and then move Virtual device mode from NVMe 0:1 to NVMe 1:0.

@pocopico another question. I used DS3622xs+ with serial number and mac genuine and works perfectly with 4 mac, but when I try to add 5 mac can not found ip with Synology Assistant and no works. I test it on baremetal, proxmox, etc. and the same issue. Is there a limitation to the bootloader? Only works with 4 mac or less?

                        No works                                                                       Works

I'll have to look at that. BTW, you dont have to specify the 5th MAC to enable a 5th network interface ?

Yes, is possible with real mac the other nic ethernet.

Only is that I have 5 mac for DS3622xs+, and if enter 4 mac works, with 5 mac no ip.

I think is limit of the bootloader or something, there is curiosity because it is not possible use 5 mac or more while DS3622xs+ original by Synology use 5 mac with DSM.

You are right -> https://github.com/XPEnology-Community/redpill-lkm5/blob/568db23d3a93e03a30c8a682d6456b50fdc8dea1/config/cmdline_opts.h#L38

LKM only supports 4 MACs

Could you update that file to have limit 5 mac?

"DSM kernel only uses 4". So it's not just a matter of the CMDLINE update or equally as simplistic modification elsewhere. So no built-in kernel support for more than 4 NICs.
