yes, funny thing is that this card was running fine on DSM 6.2, do you know of any 8port card I can use?

I had a 2nd nic port that worked in dsm623 with jun104b loader, that I had to talk dirty to in order to make it work too! I had to install a modified driver for that 2nd nic because it was on the usb bus not the pci bus, but it worked in dsm6, not in dsm7. 🤪

The jmb575 sata card work, no switch but 5 ports. I dont know of any 8 port sata, that why I ordered the sas card. 8 sata ports, and the 3622 is supposed to work great with those since the real 3622 uses similar or same type of interface. You need a sas HBA IT MODE card, recommendations are Dell H200/H310, IBM 1015, LSI 9211 8i. These are all over ebay with cables for about $50 USD. Once flashed to it mode, they are all the same... there are other models with pci3.0 x8 if your mobo has that (it probably does), but unless your running ssd drives, pci2.0 x8 is enough for 8 spinning HDD.  The advantage to ahci sata is no additional drivers, but I dont know of 1 with 8 ports and no switch/multiplexer - that doesnt mean it doesnt exist, you'd have to research your choice of sata card and verify NO SWITCH

So I have ran DS918+ in a VM , starting at7.0.1-42218 and updating to 7.0.1-42218 U3 no problem .  (and further to 7.1)

I tried DS3622xs+ on bare metal , it installs 7.0.1-42218 no problem but if I manual install the update 3 pat file from the gui it just puts me in a recover loop .

Is there any way to update to U3 on DS3622xs+ , or do I need to stay on 7.0.1 U1 , (I don't want to install 7.1 due to the complications with Advanced Media Extension, and Synology surveillance Station )

Is there a way out the recovery loop ?

I need to do some research on this.

my MB only has 2 pci slots. It seems it would be cheaper for me to buy another MB with more slots, since I already have about 3 4port PCI cards laying around somewhere.

thanks, will try again to see the logs. My old sata setup was 41 (4xRAID mvsas, 1xSATA on internal controller, 1xNVME on PCI card), is this output looking good to you?

The jmb575 sata card work

slight but important mistake, jmb575 is a multiplier chip and cards with that one will not bring the results as it will end up in the amount of usable ports of the real sata controller on that card, worst case might be a 2 port sata chips and two jmb575 (each on every real sata port) looks like a 10 port card but will onlyx have 2 ports working with dsm (because synology prevents sata multiplexer except there own used in external units)

the JMB one is JMB585 and beside one port more over the ancient marvell controllers it also has pcie 3.0, doubling the possible speed of over all data transfer (keep in mind the cip has only two pcie lanes usable)

same as jmb585 is the asm1166 but has 6 ports (also two pcie lanes and up to pcie 3.0 speed)

there are at least two 8 port ahci controllers but as they only based on pcie 2.0 chips there performance is not very good (especially when used with ssd's its a waste of money) - i wrote about these and also had a break down about the chips used and the max. performance that is to expect from the architecture

the old pcie 2.0 lsi sas controllers are still  a good choice when it comes to performance as the can use up to 8 pcie lanes (depending on the slot, they also work with less lanes, even with one but the performance will be less too)  - as long as i dont have tested the lsi sas myself i would only use them with platforms where synology uses them too and use the original driver (that scenario limits possible choice to "older" varieties and the latest tri-mode might not be usable but that one might be to expansive anyway compared with the old trusty sas2008 based ones that need extra firmware flashing to have hba aka IT mode)

tc loader has a newer mpt3sas driver but as long as i have not tested it thoroughly i'm not going to use it on a productive hardware, i have seen to much trouble with added drivers in 6.2, especially with 918+

Thanks for the reply.
It was actually 7.0.1 update 3 on Ds3622xs I was trying to run.
buggy25200 seems to refer to 6.2.4 on DS918

No, this is definitely for the update from 7.0.1-42218 to 7.0.1-42218U3, I did it and it works fine with DS3617

920+ MB: ASRock J3455-ITX

SATA controller: Intel Corporation Celeron N3350/Pentium N4200/Atom E3900 Series SATA AHCI Controller

SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1062 Serial ATA Controller (rev 02)

Problem: one by one both controllers work, but together it doesn't work :((

When both work, then only internal_slot@1 and internal_slot@2 are visible in the system, internal_slot@3 and 4 are not present in the system and it does not depend on which controller the slots are configured on.

Synology protection?

seems, the v9fs drivers cannot load on the new kernel.

is it true ?

i add ext from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/v9fs/rpext-index.json

if i didn't add it and just add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/redpill-load/master/redpill-virtio/rpext-index.json, it's okay.. the network interfaces is available, but if i add v9fs ext, the network interface not available.

Hi team !

BUT, it seems configuration is not backuped, every time i reboot it, i need to reinstall Surveillance station and cracked it again. Does someone have an idea about reason ?

I keep trying to build red-pill under Xen-Server. In rploader.sh, corrected the definition of disks in the expression $(mount | grep -i optional | grep cde | awk -F / '{print $3}' | uniq | cut -c 1-4) increased the length by one character (cut -c 1-3) was in the original version, made (cut -c 1-4). If it is possible to write an expression like (cut -c length($)-1) into the script, then tell me how to do it. As a result, when the script reaches the place where the .pat file is copied and unzipped, I get the error "cp: failed to preserve ownership for '/mnt/xvda3/auxfiles/ds3622xsp_42661.pat': Operation not permitted". What am I doing wrong?

Apologies you're correct , the links were not taking me to the correct sections on mobile browser.

I do see a process for DS3617 , I don't see anything for DS3622 , I'll investigate a bit further .

Safest way would always be to boot into DSM and check /sys/block/sata1/device/syno_block_info

Not an issue. FAT file system does not support permission preservation. It’s just a warning that you can safely ignore

Hi guys,
I'm a beginner. I downloaded tinycore-redpill.v0.4.6.img and write the img wiht rufus. I made 2 sticks. I made 2 sticks.

For first time in my life I install and use PROXMOX. I try the obtion to passtrough the USB stick ( just for testing )

On March 10th I successfully generated, for test , RPTC bootloader DSM 7.0.1-42218, for DS DS1621 + and I applied patchdtc and it recognized all hdd (3 virtualVM Proxmox). Yesterday I tried to generate DSM 7.1.0-42621. I did not succeed. Error:

Please help me!

Thank you very much!

Please try to write the image to USB stick and generate one DSM loader.

Maybe I'm a little unskilled.
