Intel chips from at least 2011 and newer should support sse 4.2 - could be even earlier I just checked back to 2011 in intel ark

I further checked and intel I series CPUs beginning from 2008 support sse 4.2

Intel ATOM 550 does not have SSE4 at all.

These are the shutdown fixes i've founs so far. In older CPUs you need to comment out the following :

cat  /lib/modules-load.d/70-crypto-kernel.conf
cbc
md5
cts
ansi_cprng
des_generic
authenc
aes-x86_64
ecb
sha256_generic
cryptd
# crc32c-intel
arc4

/lib/modules-load.d/70-cpufreq-kernel.conf
cpufreq_stats
processor
# acpi-cpufreq
cpufreq_performance
cpufreq_powersave

To do so, i suggest you do the following. While at GRUB select your boot option and press 'e' at the end of the linux line add force_junior. If you have the redpill-install you can then use the ttyd that is started on junior mode. Open your browser and point to http://<youripaddress>:7681 user is root. The edit the files and reboot.

I have to connect via telnet and execute the following command: sudo /usr/syno/lib/systemd/scripts/syno-kernel-modules-load.sh

I will these option as well as soon as I am able to do so.

Trying to change serial/mac on my up and working system of apollolake ds918 v7.1 dsm build, I boot into tc and modified the user_config.json with new serial + mac. and issue ./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661 and tcrp rebuilds usb, so I clean, backup and reboot.... system starts right back up with new serial, no interaction from me.. I was expecting to see migrate from old serial ds918 to new serial ds918.... but it just started right up.... serial number is new, but package center apps say need repair... I click repair and it says can not load service :( I tried to log in to my syno acct, but it wont load. now I'm stuck.... do I need to reformat hdd and lose all data because I changed serial?

Was there another way to change serial? I thought I was right?  HELP

You can press e while at GRUB you can press e and at the end of the linux line add force_junior. This will force a re-install of DSM. No data will be lost.

This is a headless box (no monitor, no video output). is this possible to do ssh? I can boot to tc without video by just pressing down for a minute and waiting.

If it's a headless, why don't you put the USB stick in the Windows OS and edit the "grub.cfg" yourself?

It did not solve the problem of crashing 7.1 on boot. Tried both upgrade and fresh install (Proxmox) with 918/3622 versions. 920+ reports no drives are detected as posted earlier. manual patch mentioned above not clear.

I think that's satamap issue, when virtual drives are attached only (no PCle passthrough or links SATA controller to another VM). Works ok on 7.0.1-42218 only. Upgrade or post upgrade didn't work for me, system starts, when connecting on NAS IP:port - VM shutdown. "force_junior" action and reinstallation = same effect.

does the proxmox do a kind of software virtualization of CPU flags or its there on your CPU and you just enable/disable the flag ?

you can set various flags if you want to use the qemu cpu , or you can select a cpu that you want to virtualize , or you can pass your host cpu directly.

I use the qemu64 cpu , i didn't try to virtualize a broadwell cpu

Please, which files? I MY PC is HP DC7900, Intel Quad Core 2 q9550 2,83 GHz 12m/lga775, 8 gb

Yes crc32c-intel should be commented out in /lib/modules-load.d/70-crypto-kernel.conf as well as acpi-cpufreq in /lib/modules-load.d/70-cpufreq-kernel.conf

Fixed also the config for DS3617xs and succesfully upgraded to 42661 using the TCRP postupdate process

@pocopico

Does this mean that only the postupdate of TC for DS3617xs has been successfully built and TSU does not know yet?

Have you ever tested DSM operation after installing DSM?

As a result of my test today, I think I am falling into the infinite installation of DSM.

What logs should I provide?

and please check this post ...

Hello,

I have a ASUS X550J laptop and can't figure out sata map. It has 2 sata ports, one for hdd and one for odd, but the lspci says it has a 6-port sata controller.

The pic bellow is with sataportmap=6 and diskidxmap=00. If I set sataportmap=2 and diskidxmap=00 it says no hdd found. Any ideea? Thanks

Since it's a laptop, I think there's a high possibility that there's no
It would be impossible to turn on the hot plug of Sata Port, right?
