You have to play with the disk mapping which most of the time is trial and error moving the disks around.

 

I recommend you to leave it as is... :)

I think RC is not a good idea anyway. They may shift the release level on final release. Please standby for final release for production systems

Hello, today I installed tinycore-redpill.v0.8.0.0. with new version DSM 7.1.0-42661 (DS918+) I still have the same problem, boot schedule not working? I know I can do via bios, but I can't program every Monday for example in my bios (cm. Msi H110M), I can only choose a specific date not very convenient. if anyone has a solution ? Thanks

Any luck with installing RP on VMM Yet? I’m also looking for a way to install RP on Virtual Machine Manager, until now no success. 
I did manage to install DSM 6.2.3 with the Jun loader so I guess it should be possible to install RP too if the developers would take a look at it!

Hi, do you mean, DSM virtual ? I think you have one DSM virtual license per physical DSM. It been a while since I’ve tested that. I need to revisit that

Please help me to install DSM on mb MSI MAG B365M MORTAR(MS-7C67). Boot to TC-image builder from tinycore-redpill.v0.8.0.0.img + Legacy & UEFI in bios settings = black screen. Boot from tinycore-redpill-uefi.v0.8.0.0.img with any combination of UEFI & Legacy = Loading Linux ... Loading Initramfs ... Booting TinyCore for loader creation. After that freeze for 30 seconds and reboot.

How to boot to TC Linux?

Yes that is what I mean. I know about the free license per Synology NAS, I already have used my free license, but I’m in need of another virtual DSM so that is why I thought about trying xpenology.

 I already tried to install xpenology with the RedPill Tinycore loader but I can’t get it to work. It fails when dsm is asking for formatting the disks.

never tested that. I guess proxmox settings should work. 55% corrupt file means that DSM was not able to mount loader partitions, so you are most probably not using the right combination for it. You might be able to Use usb loader but again I’ve never tested that

USB Loader is unfortunately not possible with synology VMM. 
What I don’t get is that it is possible to install XPE with the Jun loader, but as your probably know that is limited to DSM 6.2.3.

I have a new qnap TS-873A (1st qnap ever) and I have to say the qnap operating system is a total joke.

Wanted to try xpenology but I got stuck when building.

Hope someone might help.

 

It seems the file ds1621p.dts is not converted to ds1621p.dtb as I cannot find the file.

I get the message to "execute manually: cp ds1621p.dtb and re-run"

But the question is: cp it where?

Can I just rename the file from dts to dtb? The dts file seems to be plain text.

Can anybody tell me how I can validate boot-wait is working 

 

I have a strange problem with ds918+ on ESXi since i updated to 7.1 update 4 . 

 

Sometimes it can take multiple boots for the vm to come up , it says its booting , but never becomes reachable . 

 

Then sometime it will boot , and is fine until I power off / reboot

Using the dev version worked and now I am installing the DSM.

Spent a bit of time wondering why I could not find the machine on the network with Synology Assitant, but in the end I found out the config had the MAC address from another integrated nic and that my AQC107 10Gbps nic is not yet supported. Used an old Intel CT nic to get it going.

network issue...

 

baremetal HP Prodesk 400 G2 / RTL8111 / i5 works fine with Jun's and DSM6.2.3 

but migrating to RPTC v8/9 with DSM7.0 or 7.1 the network is not available anymore... Nic shuts down after 1 or 2 minutes and doesn't get any IP

....or maybe an energy issue: NIC shows neither an activity nor any connectivity after booting ... 

 

any idea?

i have a quick question regarding TCRP loader, what are the hardware limitations on this loader ? I am using loader for DS3622+

I have upgraded my HPZ800 to XEON processor with 64GB ram and running 4 windows VMs of course I am not running all of them simultaneously. 

 

the question now is, DS3622+ officially supports upto only 48G of RAM I have already installed 64 so just curious can I add more what the limitation on it?

I am running into the same issues. I have a Supermicro X10 with mp3sas. The system boot but fails during the install of DSM. Did you find a solution?
