relays were mentioned in the original post so I believe the idea is a physical trigger of the power button at a scheduled time (presumably only if the machine is not already on) with some kind of communication (I'd venture serial comms) to the esp chip to set the automatic startup time...

Ah I've got you, definitely possible, can power it off an internal USB header.  Shall start putting something together.  I've some designs that could be made to work but then a custom one might be a good idea.

Hi pocopico,

I am trying to use the loader on HP T610 (and T610P which is the same hardware)

and it takes a long time to search in "Synology Assistant" (it can identify and add tg3 extension during build)

When I try to install the PAT file, it say that the hard drive (2) is having error.

It identified SATAPortMap = "3" and DiskIdxMap = "00"

Currently it is running 6.1.7 with 1.02b DS3615xs.

Can you give me some advise?

In addition to the existing 42661 revision, 42661 U1 revision cannot be downloaded.

No its not. Read the changelog. They replaced the 42661 completely with 42661-1. The old complete Images for 42661 dont exist anymore.

The TC must be updated to the new 42661-1 Images.

Update to 42661-1 with the ~5MB File works on running Machine.

Temporarily share the pat files until the Synology Download Center is restored.
Copy it under /mnt/sd#3/auxfiles/ for permanent use.
Instead, you can store only about two due to the capacity limit.

TC's bootloader cannot be built only with that 5M capacity update file.
The original revision 7.1.0-42661 file must be present.

LOL of course not 😆

You dont understand me. The "old" 42661 complete Images are gone. They are replaced with the Update1 Images.

Have a look here: https://archive.synology.com/download/Os/DSM

The "7.1-42661-1" directory has the Update Files for running installations with the "old" 42661 Machines.

The "7.1-42661-1-NanoPacked" dir holds the new complete Images (dont know what NanoPacked means?!)

So the TC must Updated for the new complete Images.

I'm having an issue with

05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation I210 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03)
        Subsystem: Super Micro Computer Inc Device 1533
        Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 19
        Memory at f7300000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K]
        I/O ports at c000 [size=32]
        Memory at f7380000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel driver in use: igb

When I boot tinycore-redpill.v0.4.6

Here is the deal it loads fine but when I run

ifconfig -a

It finds it but does not get an ip address until I unplug the nic and then plug it back in then it looks like this

 Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:25:90:F3:46:D7
          inet addr:192.168.1.23  Bcast:192.168.1.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:835 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:210 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000

./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661

Then I reboot and get another ip like 192.168.1.24 for example

So the install runs fine until the 10 minute timer.  The pc reboots and no ip for maybe 3 minutes but then it finds an ip like 192.168.1.25 when the clock counts to 0 it says "something has gone wrong"

any ideas about this would be helpful....

Interesting setup, you could try to set the internal_slot@1 to the pci values of your m2 data drives.

For instance

tc@box:~$ udevadm info --query path --name nvme0n1

/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:16.0/0000:0b:00.0/nvme/nvme0/nvme0n1

tc@box:~$ udevadm info --query path --name nvme0n1 | awk -F "\/" '{print $4 ":" $5 }' | awk -F ":" '{print $2 ":" $3 "," $6}' | sed 's/,*$//'

00:16.0,00.0

        internal_slot@1 {
                protocol_type = "sata";
                power_pin_gpio = <0x14 0x0>;
                detect_pin_gpio = <0x23 0x1>;
                led_type = "lp3943";

                ahci {
pcie_root = "00:16.0,00.0";
ata_port = <0x0>;

                };

                led_green {
                        led_name = "syno_led0";
                };

                led_orange {
                        led_name = "syno_led1";
                };
        };

I'm sorry I just got to the server. I took a photo, maybe it will help us better. I need the second on the list of SSD Samsung to be

Command " od -bc autonano.pat } | head -1 | awk '{print $3}' "  = 255 -> encrypted.

I tried to unpack/decrypt "autonano.pat" with command " sudo /bin/syno_extract_system_patch autonano.pat /tmp/pat" , but the "/tmp/pat" directory is empty. Maybe another command need...

Hmmm... I probe fresh install with cached "nano" .pat file. DSM installed without problem. Probe update to "7.1-42661 Update 1" version -> updated, worked. File "autonano.pat" -> now no problem -> maybe future :) (need change paths in scripts for auto download new files...) (maybe now "autonano.pat" empty? 5mb -> added encryption?) (Sorry my bad english...)

Check "encrypted" file... Probe fresh install and update.
