abced Posted March 13, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2016 Hello. Does anybody have a script that would eject loader USB after boot? I added VID and PID numbers and it's not showing in DSM, but it's turned on all the time (aka consuming power), so I would like to get rid of it after it's not needed anymore. I have searched around, but haven't found anything useful yet. Thanks
Pollux4092 Posted March 13, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2016 I wonder if this really brings you anything. The amount off power consumed can be neglected http://www.testusb.com/power_issue.htm
Benoire Posted March 13, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 13, 2016 Keeping the USB plugged should consume the same amount of power as if it was 'ejected' and left in i.e. it is still receiving the same idle power; unless you mean to remove the USB in which case should the system reset for some reason then it won't boot again. abced Posted March 14, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted March 14, 2016 I am not sure about that. If nothing else, when you eject USB, the light turns off meaning there is at least one thing that stops drawing power.
brantje Posted March 14, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2016 abced, you don't need to worry about the usb stick being turned on. The power it consumes is less than your cpu consumes . Posted via Xpenology.us
