Xpenology does not start after installation

Hi everyone

I decided to build my own NAS using the following equipment:

CPU: Intel I5-6500, 3,2 Ghz

Motheboard: MSI H110M PRO-VD (Chipset Intel® H110, LAN: Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit LAN)

RAM: 16 GB Goodram 2133 MHz

HDD system: SSD Goodram 240 GB

I tried to install Xpenology, version:

DSM 6.2.4

Jun's Loader v1.04b - DS918+

DSM_DS918+_25556.pat

There was no problem with the installation, after 10 minutes, the server is no longer visible on the LAN. I tried to change extra.lzma but that didn't help either.

It is a new (clean) installation, not an upgrade.

I am asking for advice as to what the problem may be, thank you in advance for any help.

I don’t think that is possible to install 25556 with JUNs loader.

That was one of the many triggers for the creation of the RedPill loader.

If you want to keep using JUNs loader try a lower version or else try RedPill

A warning already exists

WARNING

DSM 6.2.4-25556 is an INTERMEDIATE update of DSM.

BE CAUTIOUS WHEN UPDATING TO DSM 6.2.4-25556 with Jun's loader.
Initial reports show the update will fail.

You have been warned.

It looks like this update replaces DSM 6.2.4-25554 which has been removed from downloads

Ok, thanks for information. I have Intel I5-6500 so it probably wouldn't be a problem.

I have last question. Which HDD is better in your opinion?

WD Red Plus 4TB 5900obr. 64MB CMR or Seagate IRONWOLF CMR 4TB 5900obr. 64MB

you can try to have a look at the hdd reliability statistics from backblaze to get a picture, the drives they use might not get that much spin up/down cycles as i a home environment but still good data

https://www.backblaze.com/b2/hard-drive-test-data.html

(for 4Tb drives you might need to consult older statistics from 2019 or earlier)
