jokies Posted August 11, 2013 #1 Posted August 11, 2013 Since I've been looking around and failed to see any DSM build supporting my onboard dual lan BCM58877 broadcom controller, I compiled one myself and now I would like to share it with you. As broadcom suggested it will work with all BCM5778x chips. This zImage file I'm providing will do NOTHING on its own, it can only be useful when you do the following steps: 1. Find a working DSM 4.2 build, for example, this one: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=907 2. Write the *.img file into your USB/DOM. 3. Use Ubuntu or whatever method you like to open the two data partitions inside your USB/DOM (they should be there otherwise you failed to write the *.img properly.) 4. Remove both of the zImage files inside them(under root). 5. Rename the file bcm57788.zImage (linke at the bottom) to zImage and copy it to the two partitions. 6. Plug your USB/DOM into your computer and boot from it, soon it should appear on your home network. Or you can search it with synology assistant. Known issues: 1. The CIFS mount function of file station is not working. 2. Cannot set Jumbo MTU.(You can successfully set it but it's actually not working) 3. Non admin users' privilege settings seemed not working properly. attachment: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid ... 1713517929
