Can you mine on XPEnology?

Hi,

 

Was interested in setting up my own XPEnology box to use as a backup NAS device in the office and was wondering if I could also Mine Eth with it?

 

I mean will it recognize a 1060 gpu?

If im not mistaken, then the short answer is no - Synology/Xpenology doesnt have support for "external graphics" - As Synology boxes doesnt come with any video out options, there is no need for them to include the support for it.

nVidia drivers are not included in any currently supported platforms.

 

However, I believe there has been some progress to compile nVidia support and added it to DS918+.  You'll have to search for that in the forums.  Once it is working (nVidia device appears as /dev/dri) then it should be trivial to set up a Docker mining app.
