fonix232 Posted January 1, 2016 #1 Posted January 1, 2016 Hey all! Long time no see. I've been busy with life, sold my server (moved, couldn't carry it with myself). Now as I got a new laptop, decided to use my old one as a home server. As it's a laptop (with two hard drives), it has a wireless card built in. However, I can't seem to be able to enable it in a way that Control Panel -> Wireless detects it too as a wireless network adapter. However, BT works just fine. Has anyone ever successfully enabled their built-in WiFi to be detected as a USB/Compatible one?
brantje Posted January 2, 2016 #2 Posted January 2, 2016 What chipset does you laptop has? What brand and model is it?

It's an HP Elitebook 8530W, with an Intel Wireless Pro/N (03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300) chipset. It is definitely recognized as BT works through it, and I have BT connectivity.
