blackmesa Posted December 31, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2015 hi, I have installed ESXi 6 on an GA-H97M WIFI motherboard with Xeon 1231v3. I can boot my Xpenology VM, select setup/install option, but when I connect to the Synology Web assistant it says no hard disks found. I can see the hard disks in the Vsphere client (advanced settings>storage, so surely they should pass through to the VM? Maybe I am doing something stupid or need to do something to enable them but I am stuck. I have tried attaching various disks but none seem to be visible in Xpenology. I have create a test virtual disk of 30Gb and I can then install DSM successfully so I know my build is ok, its just the physical disks I cannot see. Any help would be appreciated please. forrester Posted January 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2016 Your hardware doesn't support passthrough devices. You need to create RDM files (as vmdk) and map those back to your disks. http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/micros ... Id=1026256 This is exactly how I have mine setup.
