DSM: 5.2-5644 Update 8

CPU: Onboard Intel® Quad-Core Processor J3160

Motherboard: ASRock J3160DC-ITX

Ram: Kingston HyperX Impact Black 16GB (2x8GB, DDR3L)

HDD: 2x3TB WD RED

CPU-Cooler: Onboard heatsink

Case: Fractal Design Node 304

PSU: Onboard + 65W DC-in 19V 3.42A Power Adapter (bundled with motherboard).

FAN controller /Nuvoton nct6775/ and CPU frequency scaling /intel_pstate/ (CPU constantly at 1.6 GHz) is not supported in Xpenoboot 5.2-5644 Update 5 (missing drivers for that). Both will be fixed in next Xpenoboot release. All other works ok.

Power consumption (CPU constantly at 1.6 GHz, see note above):

  • HDD running: 19 W
  • HDD sleeping: 12 W

I'm using a Shuttle SH67H3 as a my baremetal:

http://global.shuttle.com/main/products ... uctId=1477

Only parts I added to the box was a 2nd gen Intel Core i3, hard drives and 4GB ram.

This particular model is now 4 years old. I originally bought it for use as a HTPC.

Those Shuttle boxes are great, I'm using one of those for pFsense firewall.

you can easily turns yours into a full hotswap XPEnology with a couple of ICY DOCKs add on

i'm using this MB324SP-B http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=196 and this MB992SK-B http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=150

They really are great boxes. I actually have one as my main/work PC in my home office. I use this one: http://global.shuttle.com/news/products ... uctId=1925. I love it because it natively supports 3 monitors!

HP Pavilion p6-2011

I added - Intel Gigabit CT PCI-E Network Adapter EXPI9301CTBLK - Not needed, BUT it quickened transfers Both ways avg. 110 MBs

It has four SATA ports and can hold four Hard Drives with imagination,, At the moment there are three installed

Running Xpenology 5.2

Cost = $ 20.oo at local pawn shop I happened to walk into.. Sign said BIOS password locked.

I went home and first Google link showed how easy to clear,, So I bought it

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2GHz TDP 35W (transcode full HD serviio java server (not hevc))

Motherboard: ASUS M2A-VM

RAM: 6GB DDR2 800Mhz (2x1GB Patriot and 2x2GB GoodRAM)

SATA Card Motherboard

SAS Card Motherboard

SCSI Card Motherboard

Network card Motherboard

Harddrive 2x Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB 3,5' Sata III (but motherboard has only sataII -enough for me) + 32GB Gloway 32GB SSD 2.5 " sataIII 7mm (for memory)

USB Wifi none - no need

WOL no need so far - maybe later

External acess: hopto.org (i turn it off remotely via LG G3 chrome browser  )

I turn it on when i need to watch some move (works 80% as a HTPC) , serviio and java8 installed. Best solution for me 2 TV SONY 2009 KDL - 40NX700 and 2011 KDL - 50W6556A (LAN wired). I.ve tried plex and synology dlna media server and servioo gave what i need. Also works download station, and cloud sync (3 google accounts).

I've also ordered the best (economic and TDP) processor for my board:

AMD Phenom II X4 910e 2.6 GHz Quad-Core CPU Processor HD910EOCK4DGM and i'll try to install and see if it would give me no problems with 1080p hvec transcode (planet earth ;P) (present processor is 80% when transcoding anything) i need only one 1080p string or occasionally (so far never) 2 strings.

Loaded jun's loader from this topic:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22100

updated to DSM 6.0 update 8

Works like a charm

Thanks for all this stuff here on forum!

I/ve got previously Synology 112j ad it was a mistake i used it only as a syno cloud and data base for external trancoder (laptop) no self transcode of course
