Synology Assistant Download

Where can I find the latest download of Synology Assistant?

 

The only place I found it was http://xpenology.me/downloads/ but the link for Synology Assistant 5.2-5005 for windows does not work.

 

I am currently attempting my first ever XPenology build using XPEnoboot 5.2-5644.1, DSM 5.2-5644 from 10/18/2015. with an I3-4360 z97 platform with 16GB RAM.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

 

I am putting in 5TB drives, do I have to format them GPT first before or will that automatically happen as I am building the volumes in Synology DSM?

I'm quiet new to this site too, I'm using that version you have found. After testing out I got the hang of it. Trial and error helps, especially getting used to it. Understanding most importantly how it works, and were the files are installed too. As to your question, you can find it on the synology website, (https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/download/EDS14) here. I'd format first as I ran into problems. (the drives were from my previous nas and it was linux based) format on mac or PC seems to be fine, the synology box reformats anyways. I'd recommend getting used to how it works, possibly a small drive (or two if you can) highly recommend synology SHR raid, use the synology raid calculator to see how much space you can get with this raid type. (https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/RAID_calculator) what will you be using the server for if you don't mind me asking? I tested mine for about a week or so, still digging up new things and adding to mine.
