rickym Posted July 22, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2021 I have a xpenology server just for all my movies. It is time to upgrade to larger hard drives. I have been using hyperbackup to backup my movie server to another server I have. Is that a good solution so that after installing all the new drives and installing Xpenology on those drives would hyperbackup be a good solution to restore. Hope that makes sense as I don't want to lose all my years of movies.

Piteball Posted July 31, 2021 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2021 Why not just swap out one hard drive at a time, let it rebuild, and then continue swap the next. When all drives are swapped out, just increase the size of the volume, or create another volume whatever suits your needs best. Having a backup of all the movies on another storage doesn't hurt in case something goes bonkers.
