haydibe Posted October 7, 2021 Share #2451 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) @Orphée I completly missed the fact that the issue only takes place with pass through controllers... Edited October 7, 2021 by haydibe
dpruim Posted October 7, 2021 Share #2452 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) Hi All, first time poster here, so be kind 😉 Could someone please assist me. I've tried to read as much as possible, but exuse me if I missed anything. I'm currently on DSM 42214, which is working flawlessly, but I wanted to upgrade to DSM 42218. I did the following: sudo apt-get update sudo apt install docker.io sudo apt install jq sudo apt install curl cd redpill-tool-chain_x86_64_v0.11 chmod +x redpill_tool_chain.sh sudo bash ./redpill_tool_chain.sh build apollolake-7.0.1-42218 && sudo bash ./redpill_tool_chain.sh auto apollolake-7.0.1-42218 This all went without issues, giving me the following file: redpill-DS918+_7.0.1-42218_b1633599141.img. I put this file on a thumbdrive via Rufus, and it boots without issues. Synology assistant sees this as migratable, but when I upload the following file: DSM_DS918+_42218.pat, after 56% it give me an error saying: Faile to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. Tried downloading another pat file, with no avail. Any advise would be helpfull. Orphée Posted October 7, 2021 Share #2454 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) @dpruim Without your serial console logs it will be hard to help. At least doublecheck your VID/PID values. I guess you did not change your conf file between 42214 and 42218 but still... Found this : https://gugucomputing.wordpress.com/2018/11/11/experiment-on-sata_args-in-grub-cfg/ oh, this makes sense.. that's why the bootloader disk can be adjusted to 0C and gets out of the way leaving /dev/sda free.. btw i have a fork of redpill with dsm 7.0.1-42218 badly patching stuff from pocopico and jumkey repos if anyone wants to try..
