Thanks! I installed it with SataPortMap=2 and it worked. 🙂
Now, how can I "
delete SataPortMap option and add sata_remap=4\>2:5\>3 option"? Sorry for the stupid question, but I can't understand how to do it 😥

login as your user in DSM and do the following :

sudo -s && cd /dev/ && mount synoboot1 /mnt # You will be requested for your admin user password

vi /mnt/boot/grub/grub.cfg

some vi skills are required, so you might find the following useful

it opens a new document 🤨
"/mnt/boot/grub/grub.cfg" [New DIRECTORY]

Try to split the commands and see which one is failing

sudo -s

cd /dev/

mount synoboot1 /mnt

vi /mnt/boot/grub/grub.cfg

Splitting commands it seems to work, but I don't find SataPortMap option

Sorry, I'm linux noob. Thank you for your patience

Hi,

I need your advise. I had redpill DS918+ 7.0.1-42218 Update 2 i upgraded to 7.0.1-42218 Update 4.  I thought it will be safe. Now im on "migratable" loop. Any tip how to fix it?

Fix of my NAS was a pain.

- i tried TCRP 918+ Jun - no luck, didnt find previous instalation and want to do fresh install

- i tried TCRP 920+ Jun (with my.sh script) - migration goes with success, but detect 4 from 6 my drives (4x HDD SHR2 detect but 2x SSD SATA SHR doesn`t). but detect 2x NVMe for cache.

- i tried back to RP 918+ - no luck, want yto do fresh install

- i tried DS3622xsp - success, detect all 6 drives and both arrays BUT didnt find NVMe drives

@pocopico any advise how to enable NVMe support on TCRP DS3266xsp 7.0.1-JUN?

Hello,

I have 2x ds918+ on 6.2.4 and would like to test dsm 7+

Could someone point me to a guide on how to do this?

There is a bit to read and decide what you are going to do.

I would start to test first all steps on VM to good understand what you are doing.

Yes you need to compile the redpill loader with the prod flag

It's easy to overcome that problem. Install with SataPortMap=1 (or 2), after successful installation, delete SataPortMap option and add sata_remap=4\>2:5\>3 option. Your disks will show 1, 2, 3 and 4

My motherboard is H81 based. satamap now reports that port 3 and 4 are bad (disabled). I used sataportmap=2 for the installation.

I add sata_remap=4\>2:5\>3 line to the grub.conf but the DSM still shows me ports as 5 and 6 not as 3 and 4.

does anyone know it the fake smart data shim on the hdd/ssd in redpill can be implemented for virtual nvme disks too somehow? dsm wont allow to use a virtual nvme vmdk as cache because it gives critical error on smart lifespan, from what i understand that shim was never implemented in redpill.. am i correct?

Nvme caching works on 3622 image. I’m using it right now with 2 MSI nvme drives
