I use it! :) ds3615xs rocks all is green but ds3617xs looking for dpkg and tinylinux not have it? If i edit /home/tc/redpill-load/include/runtime.sh and remove dpkg all is green after this and create bootable usb with 3617xs(beta), boot usb found in find.synology.com but pat file is always corrupted ?

Virtual or physical ? 
 

For virtual you can use sata boot entry while on GRUB

 

For physical, you can run the following prior building the loader. 

 

./rploader.sh identifyusb now

The Search finds a 3615XS, but no drives. MPT3 extension is added...

Anyone here got the HBA working here?  Mine shows as Fusion MPT2 2008 8-Port

The sole purpose of the commands is to make it easy for every Proxmox user to download tinycore and create a proxmox vm that uses the img-file as  usb-boot. Please do not skip or modify parts of the command sequence you don't understand.

 

 

 

 

@haydibe I followed your instructions 1:1 making absolutely no changes but when I start the VM I end up in a boot loop with the VM not seeing a boot-able device

at the boot screen press "esc" and select the USB device... also you can add to the VM settings args 'bootindex=number' .. where the number is your virtual boot USB..

My bad, I accidently removed the bootindex setting, which is required to actualy boot from the usb disk. It is present in the link of my signature, but not in the "updated" command sequence I posted earlier.

and one more question please i have real ds3617xs in home if i use my serial and mac address to my clone nas do i will get working face recognition in synology pictures ?

I have testet the ds3617xs with Redpill Tinycore on Proxmox and the face recognition works with generated serial and mac. You don't need to use your real serial and mac.

With the ds3617xs the Update 1 and Update 2 don't work. And ACPI doesn't work too.

 

I have also tested ds918+ and ds3615xs. With these the Update 1 and Update 2 works good. ACPI works only with yjimmyGALLAND rp-ext, not with jumkeys.

Sadly agree @Unregistrado.. tried mpt2.ko too without Luck.

Maybe our device ID´s help implement them to the one that runs other Cards flawlessly.

 

Just want my Sys be able to get on 7.x.x since it is backed up properly in 3-2-1 scheme.

But to be able to use it, you will have to produce a PAT file yourself!

In order to produce your PAT file, here is a procedure to follow:

 

Prerequisites

And another machine to receive the PAT file (with ssh server un this procedure).

 

Launch a manual migration to update 2 from GUI DSM 7.0.1.

After the reboot which will fail!

Connect to the serial port

 

You can see why it didn't work...

In this tutorial I work with the rp-helper tool but you can use what you prefer.


Put your PAT file in the cache download directory so that it can be used without downloading synology's one, or host your file on a server and modify the pat_url!

I have updated DS3617xs to Update 2 too with your howto, it works.

Only the ACPI - Powerbutton shutdown doesn't work. 

When I start the script /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh in DSM it shuts down, but from Proxmox it doesn't.

 

On DS3615xs and DS918+ it works.

@pocopico or anyone else with knowledge, I have used a tutorial to figure out how to recompile the drivers for 3617xs broadwell, I used the version 7 toolchain. So now I have a directory full of .ko and some firmware files for my broadcom nics I see how to install them with normal synoboot image, but how do I insert the newly compiled drivers into tinycore redpill. Also if the vid:pid need to be changed to match my nics in driver how would I go about doing that?  It seems that the drivers are in a file format on tiny pill that has a .bsp extention, tho that may be incorrect.  Thanks in advance

Hi,

 

You would have to create an extension so it can be added to the redpill loader. Instructions are on the developer readme section on the redpill GH repo.

 

Before you create an extension with these modules, i suggest you first try each and every one to see if they load and unload succesfully.
