asheenlevrai Posted July 1, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2021 Hi I disabled (in the BIOS) the onboard Ethernet port on one of my xpen rigs in order to use a quad-port NIC instead. I read somewhere that the mac number of mac addresses on xpen rigs is 4 (for reasons that were not disclosed). Now I noticed that if I plug an Ethernet cable into the onboard Ethernet port, its LEDs still light up and blink. Although the onboard Ethernet port doesn't appear in DSM Network settings. Although the xpen rig is not reachable in Synology Assistant when using only the disabled onboard Ethernet port. Is it normal that these LEDs don't just stay OFF? I'm experiencing issues with the quad-port NIC as reported here. Thus I wonder if a 5th Ethernet port (maybe not properly disabled) could be causing problems here. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Best, -a-
