superbanana Posted November 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2015 I am wondering if DS Video can transcode video at 1080p resolution. I understand that currently Xpenoboot emulates DS3615xs which supports up to 720p transcoding. Is it possible to modify Xpenoboot to emulate DS2415+ which also runs on x86_64 architecture CPU to support transcoding to 1080p? If software-wise is possible, I will consider upgrading the hardware to support that.
NeoID Posted November 3, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2015 Rather then hacking DS Video, why are you not just using Plex?
superbanana Posted November 3, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 3, 2015 Because Plex cannot use the user accounts already created in Synology and the iOS app requires in-app purchase to remove playback restrictions.

Do you really have so many users that it matters? The app is worth the money, the developers are doing an awesome job. I've both brought the app and Plex pass. If you really don't want to pay you can always use http://plex.tv instead.
