flyride Posted June 27, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2021 Disk LEDs are a function of the SATA interface and your enclosure. I have a U-NAS hotplug case; the drive occupancy and activity LEDs are connected to the hotplug backplane and work fine with no interaction with or configuration of DSM. The status LED is connected to a proprietary chip controlled via the serial port on real Synology hardware. It also is responsible for the beep function. It would be fairly easy to reverse engineer the LED and beep using an Arduino or something similar, but I have never seen anyone attempt it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
