davurleon Posted October 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2015 Hi! I have bought one of these RAID controllers, but I cannot make it work with Xpenology, is there anyone out there who can help me make it work?
davurleon Posted October 14, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted October 14, 2015 Sorry, my bad, I just forgot to initialize the disks in the control panel of the RAID card!
davurleon Posted October 18, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 18, 2015 Anyone else have this card? I find it very slow (copying from one Xpenology to another over a 1000Mbit network is only 20-30 Mbytes pr second) and I don't know if I have configured it wrong or if that is the speed I can expect? sbv3000 Posted February 23, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2016 I've not played with these 3ware adapters, but from experience of other controllers, its best to set them to jbod/ide/IT mode (or whatever is the 'non hardware raid' mode for the card) and this will then 'pass through' SMART and HDD data to XPE/DSM. If you are running hardware raid and SHR (software raid) there might be an overhead hence the slow network speed. But throughput is dependent on a number of factors - HDD speed, number of disks, SHR raid type, controller capability, CPU, not to mention NIC drivers and whatever else the system is doing at the same time
