I would like to install xpenology on my intel NUC and connect via ethernet my ipad and my sons notebook. In addition I would like to use the thunderbolt 3 in my macbook to connect directly with the nuc to gain access to xpenology - is this possible? Can I even use the built in wlan of the NUC as a third networking adapter?
Or another idea: can I install EsXi running xpenology and give the thunderbolt, the ethernet and the wlan to the VM to use these as Networking adapters? Will i get the 10 GBps of thunderbolt 3? The NUC has a 1 TB nvme and 1 TB ssd built in and 3 external USB 3.1 HDd enclosures containing WD NAS drives a 4 TB each - how can i use them within Xpenology the best way?
