Okay  so I got my  Sever going but I going move it to a Antec P180 (case is like the one Below)

Once i get the following Parts

(1) The Power supply goes in the bottom

current one the cables are too short for Power connections and there not enough SATA for 10 to 12 Drives ..

I'll use the 5'25 Bays as Slide out Drives There room for 16 Hard drives

will only use 10  so I can space out the heat

(2) I am going need also a PCI Card that card 6 SATA Drives and fast  Nic card 10/100/1000Mbps

Running DS3615xs 6.1 Jun's Mod V1.02-alpha ISO  with DSM_DS3615xs_15284

that a normal nic, a fast one has at least 10G, but you can also get 40G for a good price, even 100G is possible but expansive and does not make much sense in most cases

if you look for a predictable performace then intel 1G nic's are a good choice

maybe a cheap 2.5G realtek (r8125) can be interesting?

i meant the psu cage, in the lower back area

even the extra fan in the psu area could be removed, usually the psu has its own fan

with these two removed every normal psu should fit?

It the 24 Pin connector and 4 pin that are too short ..

It's fit fine in the case

try to connect your disks to all 6 ports and you will see that only 4 ports will work with dsm (the 4port of the 88se9215)

also with pcie 2.0 and one pcie lane you will have 500MB/s for all ports, might be ok as long as you just use a 1G nic but even then the raid rebuild times on disk failures will not be good especially with bigger disks like 8TB or more

depending on the board and its pcie slots a jmb585 or 88se9230 based card or a lsi sas 9211-8i (it-mode) card might be better choices

maybe ask Admiral Cain what she thinks about more fire power for her BS ;-)

@IG-88  so here what I done I'm using 1st 4 Ports on my card for Crap Drives

The card is fine for what using it for and that Data won't matter .

I run Experiments on that one

I  have none motherboard's SATA  Ports

So when I get the new Drives they be put there

That gives me 4 Drives 4 TB Each Raid5 or SHR   12 TB and 1 Can Fail .
