Usb Stick Bootable

i have gigabyte brix with spec :

intel n3000

ram 4gb

ssd128gb

 

my question 

1. if i sucsess installing xpenology can i remove usb stick forever? or this usb for liveos dsm run in usb?

2.im testing using ssd n if working i move to hdd 

3. i just using xpenology for backup my phone photos n file , can app synologi work for backup?

USB must remain connected.  It is used for each boot and for upgrades.

 

I don't see a question regarding SSD vs HDD.  SATA SSDs are fully supported.

 

DSM on XPenology and DSM on regular Synology are fully interoperable.  Also aside from licensing limits, there are no issues running apps, packages, etc on DSM on XPenology

no msata is still sata and boot is from usb, a possible alternative are internal sd/micro sd card readers as the usually are usb devices (like on some hpe microservers) and you would need to know the vid/pid of that usb device to boot from it
