delars Posted July 19, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi, I updated my xpenology to DSM5.2 update2, so far so good. When configing i tought it would be a good idea to maximise security. So it began: I started with https disable admin en guest user disable telnet Next i implemented multi factor authentication, at this point it pointed out to set te mail settings. Hell, i will do this later. Then i was thinking it would be nice to create a difficult password. So i did, 24 charactars, all random. But i forgot to note this down.... Now i'm locked out of my nas. Does anyone know a method to reset everything but to keep my data?

EvgeniX Posted July 22, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2015 Added parameter for reset user password (e.g., if you want to reset password for user “admin”, you can manually add parameter “resetuser=admin”, the password will be empty after boot.) delars Posted July 22, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted July 22, 2015 It worked! Now for part two of my stupidity. It asks me for a 6 digit code (multifactor authentication) But the mail settings are not configured....
