rickym Posted January 20, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) I have 3 Xpenology nas boxes. I use one just to store backups. My question is if I have a server that fails I am unsure of the procedure to restore. After I replace bad drives do I need to install the basic operating system to the nas box and then restore from the backup. Couldn't find an exact guide just in case it ever happens. Thanks in advance and hope that makes sense. Also is there a better program to backup from one nas to another? jensmander Posted January 20, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2021 Yes, in basic it‘s the correct way. You’ll have to reinstall DSM, install HyperBackup and restore everything with this app. Beside HyperBackup I would also make a backup from the DSM configuration from time to time.

rickym Posted January 20, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted January 20, 2021 One more question on this type of backup. When I do the next backup does it just update the changes from previous backup or is it another complete backup that takes hours.?
