LittleLama Posted July 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Hi ! I managed to expand my server by adding hard disks with sata cards expansion. My choice came to Startech PEXSAT32 SATA expansion card, by founding it on this board. The first works really fine with two hard drive on it. The second sata card isn't working at all in DSM, but is well recognized in the BIOS. I placed on it a little HDD to test it, and it is well recognized in the BIOS. No way to find it in DSM Disk Manager. Any idea where it comes from ? The two cards are exactly the same model. Thanks !! LittleLama Posted July 18, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted July 18, 2015 I managed to look into the shell and the fdisk command revealed the HDD. So I don't think it is a hardware issue, but a DSM/Xpenology bug. Anyone here has more than 7 HDD ?
LittleLama Posted July 19, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted July 19, 2015 After some investigations, hard drive is now seen as eSata drive. I found this thread and I think the goal is not so far. https://xpenology.eu/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=
LittleLama Posted July 19, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted July 19, 2015 That was it, my internal port was the 14th, so I had to modify the port table of maxdisks= internalportcfg= esataportcfg= in /etc/synoinfo.conf and /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf
