LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager or SMIS Provider Support

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone has installed or know what is involved to adding support for LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager or the SMIS Provider to XPEnology? LSI/Avago has a Linux 64-bit MSM http://www.lsi.com/downloads/Public/RAID%20Controllers/RAID%20Controllers%20Common%20Files/15.03.01.00_Linux-64_MSM.gz and SMIS Provider http://www.lsi.com/downloads/Public/RAID%20Controllers/RAID%20Controllers%20Common%20Files/00.55.00.02_SMIS_Provider_Linux.zip available for download, I'm just not sure how to add it to XPEnology.

I currently have XPEnology installed on ESXi 6.0 and have my 9265-8i setup as a passthrough device to XPEnology, but in order to do any array management etc I have to shutdown XPEnology and pass the 9265-8i to a Windows Server 2012 R2 server and use MSM within Windows, then move the controller back to XPEnology. It would be ideal if this can be done within XPEnology, at the very least having the SMIS Provider installed in XPEnology would allow a remote connection from a Windows Server via MSM without having to shutdown XPEnology.

Anybody?

Hi Geek,

my setup is similar to yours. I'm using an M5015 flashed as LSI 9260 8i in esxi6 Passthrough mode. How is your configuration in the MIS application?

I'm using XPENOLOGY 3615xs 5.2 5565

I don't see any disks in the DSM.

I have a IBM 5016 (Same as LSI 9265) that i passtrough from ESXI with JBOD activated on the card.

It seems to work well, but the smart status and temp is not showing.

I found this link about how to activate JBOD, maybe it will work for you:

Maybe this will help you, it helped me to get the card work in Xpenology.
