eighty1 Posted January 8, 2021 #1 Posted January 8, 2021 I haven't updated in a fair bit and I'm trying to map out what I need to get to the latest stable DSM. Here's what I have so far: Current DSM: 6.1.7.-15284 Loader: 1.03b (I think) Model: 3615xs Hardware: bare metal (Xeon E3-1231V3, Z97 chipset, six 4TB drives, no SSD cache or anything fancy) So what's the process here? New Jun's Loader (1.04 I would assume), boot off of that and install 6.2.3-25426 for the DS918? It's possible that this whole process is spelled out in another thread but I couldn't find it; if so, please link it so I can use that for reference. Thanks in advance! Quote
flyride Posted January 8, 2021 #2 Posted January 8, 2021 The installation is exactly the same as 6.1.7. You are currently using a 1.02 version of the loader, you will need to boot with 1.03b/1.04b and do a migration install of 6.2.3. Which one is up to your hardware and the features you want: https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/13333-tutorialreference-6x-loaders-and-platforms/ If there are no new features you need, you will gain nothing by upgrading.
