Respecto a IDE, yo he configurado SATA y me funciona igual.

adjunto capturas de cómo me funciona a mi. 2109081941_CapturadePantalla2020-12-05ala(s)13_16_14.thumb.jpg.6aad1398197e8e4d8c6fb0f77dfcb30d.jpg

Thank you for your message. To answer your question, I was unable to boot once, did not install Windows 10 or Ubuntu there.

There are different questions and answers a) how instal DSM into VirtualBox?, and b) How instal Win10-Ubuntu into DSM?

a) was answered up

b) If you I'll never reach a fully installation -neither- Win10-Ubuntu inside DSM (host). 1) you have to  know that Not all Ubuntu Versions are compatibility with any DSM, so you need to find .ISO (.vdi) Ubuntu "match" with your DSM. In my case were: Virtual Machine (native DSM)

-Ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso (converted in .vdi)

-Windows.10.Pro.x64.iso (converted in .vdi)

-Synology_VMM_Guest_Tool_1.5.3-0015.iso
