hellion Posted November 25, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2020 Hello community! Please tell me, now I use hardware in the signature. I need a good productive network card (4 queues for receiving and sending) to organize a virtual router. I see that many people use HP NC360T, but will INTEL i340-T2 work? Are third party extra.lzma needed for these network cards? Or will they immediately use the e1000e driver? (intel RSS support) Can anyone show the ethtool -i output on an HP NC360T NIC or similar? Sorry for my english!

mojojojotroi Posted December 4, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2020 I use a HP NC365T card PCIe 2.0 x4 Quad Intel I340-T4 (82580) natively. I tried the "ethtool -i" command but it gave me an error, sorry I'm a Linux newbie.
flyride Posted December 4, 2020 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2020 The i340-T2 is a server card. It will use the igb driver, not e1000e. It won't work with 6.2.1 or 6.2.2, but should be fine with 6.1.7 and 6.2.3. But the only way to know for sure is to try it.
hellion Posted December 20, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted December 20, 2020 I bought and installed intel i350-t2. It works without any problems so far. I conduct performance tests. There is one feature: if you add network cards to grub.conf at the end, the system may misunderstand. the first macs= must be from an external network module, the last mac= from the built-in motherboard.
