How to upgrade from 6.1.7-15284 u4 to DSM 6.2 with HP T620?

digitall12

Question

I'm stuck!

I can't get to fix it.

I own a HP T620 with AMD GX-217GA Dual-Core APU with AMD Radeon HD 8280E graphics (1.65 GHz). I'ts running DSM 6.1.7-15284 update 4 for 2 years.

Now I want to run 6.2 with Jun's Loader 3615XS 103b.

I changed the VID and PID, MAC and serial and i'ts booting. But I can't get no ip adress.

Can anybody help me? Or is 6.1 a final release for the T620?

In the meantime i moved from bare metal to Esxi.

I installed an Esxi server on my T620 with te same loader as described above and that worked also very good.

Do you want to install it bare metal ? Or Esxi? For both methods I use this loader:  DS3615xs_DSM6.2-23739_MBR.rar

For further installation Tutorial

Some footnotes: Check your usb VID and PID. It's important. And change the mac adress into the original mac adress of your T620 in the grub.cfg file

What do you mean with install 2 HDDs? In my T620 I have only room for one1 M2 ssd with 128 gb. But I connect two external HDD via the usb ports. Is that what you meant?

Yeah I mean if I can make a raid 1 with 4 HDDs, maybe with some external dock, like a sort of 4 bays

to use usb for baremetal is not supported and if you mangle the config files in a way doing it you will loose that on bigger updates giving serious headaches and loss of convenience

you can have two sata drives, one in the m.2 and 2nd in mSATA slot (or soldered manually if its missing)

https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t620/

https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t620/mods.shtml

if msata is present and you want o use a normal sata connector for a 2.5" hdd/ssd

https://www.startech.com/en-us/hdd/msat2sat3

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_181_184&product_id=888

the sata part of the m.2 slot can be used with this

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_181_184&product_id=889

there are also minipcie sata controllers to replace the wifi card

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=64_181_183

and m.2 pcie controllers

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_181_184&product_id=1070

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_181_184&product_id=1044

https://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_181_184&product_id=969

ps: and as you seem new to xpenology, sata multiplexer are not supported so using a enclosure with that tech also does not work

if you connect an sata connector for a 2.5"ssd in the slot, where did you get the power for the disk?

just suggestions based on spec and from the page a found about tweaking the t620

for one you could have 500mA from the internal usb connector and if you take a closer look at the pictures from the link above

the power of the disk in the picure and near thr usb port and in another picture with the systemboard you can see that its the unsoldered connector right beside the usb

right beside this there is something that looks like a fan connector, that might be a option too (the pictures are not highres so i cant read what written on the board, but you can and you can take some mesurements where is ground and 5V
