Upgrading to XPEnoboot 5.1-5055.1?

Hi Folks,

I'm a little confused on what the process is to upgrade the XPEnoboot version from 5.1-5022.3 to 5.1-5055.1 to allow me to update the DSM version from DSM 5.1-5022 Update 5 to DSM 5.1-5055.

Can anyone help?

Am currently running XPEnology on VMware ESXi on my Microserver Gen 8.

Cheers,

Dee

I've tested the upgrade on my Hyper-V VM (I run my main servers on physical boxes)...

Steps to test...

1. Shutdown DSM.

2. Replaced the old bootloader with the new ISO in the VM settings (this is equivalent to creating a new USB key for a physical installation)

3. Booted VM and selected Install/Upgrade in the bootloader.

4. Accessed DSM web interface from SynologyAssistant, selected Install/Upgrade, then Manual and pointed it at the PAT file download from above.

5. Install progressed smoothly and everything looks fine in the resulting DSM install.

I'm not sure if I needed to do the install/upgrade or if I could have let DSM upgrade itself, but the above process worked.

You can download the 5055 PAT file and new bootloader here: http://xpenology.me/downloads/

Regards,

Paul.

For me was almost the same

1. shutdown the nas

2. Put new usb key (it is physical installation)

3. Booted the nas in normal not in install/upgrade mode

4. Login in your nas

5. Go to control panel and click on update & restore, in there do the manual installation.

6. Your nas will reboot and voila all is done.

Did this on my 2 nas

Hope this help some and thank you.
