tavalin Posted May 18, 2015 Share #52 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) I'm having trouble downgrading. This is what I've been doing so far: 1) try to install 5022 2) wait for it to fail and mention telnet3) log in with root using 101-0101 as password4) edit VERSION with vi, ensuring buildnumber is "5021"5) :wq to save and quit6) type reboot7) reboot into install/update modeHowever at this point the build number has reverted and when I try and install via Synology Assistant it tells me the current version is still 5565 and that I need to install a newer version. What am I doing wrong that the build number reverts during the reboot? Thanks
you must change the minorversion="1".
This is what I see in the VERSION file: DiskStation login: root Password: BusyBox v1.16.1 (2015-01-07 14:56:44 CST) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. DiskStation> cd /etc.defaults/ DiskStation> vi VERSION majorversion="5" minorversion="1" buildphase="hotfix" buildnumber="5022" smallfixnumber="0" builddate="2015/01/07" buildtime="14:15:27" unique="synology_bromolow_3615xs" extractsize=478408 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ - VERSION 1/9 11% The minorversion is already set to 1 even before I change the buildnumber. I changed the buildnumber but it doesn't seem to commit so when I reboot it is back to the above. Edited May 18, 2015 by Guest
