any way to to write a new boot image to the old flash drive... remotely ? :?:

then next time i don't have to physically touch the flash drive on my bare metal NAS :mrgreen:

 

 

 

You must edit the "DEFAULT" value in syslinux.cfg.

 

From

DEFAULT xpenology

To

DEFAULT install

 

Now the install option is marked as default value.

 

You can change the timeout value too, so it boot's a little faster:

 

From

TIMEOUT 50

To

TIMEOUT 1

Yes, you need to check out the dd command in linux. I also made a post about how to flash the DOM on an QNAP (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4606) which will give you the syntax, but you will need to identify the drive yourself.
