kitmsg Posted April 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2015 I think it might sound a bit crazy but anyone has some creative idea on how to Install Xpenology into a 4G SSD hard drive, please?

kitmsg Posted April 17, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted April 17, 2015 I mean I want to boot up a xpenology with a USB boot disk, and then install the whole DSM into another SD Card/usb disk. Is it feasible?
ivanmmj Posted April 18, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 18, 2015 XPenology installs a copy of itself into every drive. The OS itself is super small. Unless you are only planning to use that 4GB drive as your only drive, it makes no sense to install it unto that drive.

rok1 Posted April 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 19, 2015 Before the upgrade to DSM 5.1 I ran my Xpenology build off of a 32g SSD following this guide: http://cyanlabs.net/Thread-Installing-S ... SB-or-ESXi But the creater of that thread said he wasn't going to update it to work with 5.1. I am sure it is possible to make some changes to make it work, but it is beyond my Linux knowledge
