Wolf666 Posted April 7, 2015 #1 Posted April 7, 2015 Hi All, I am planning to build my first NAS. I own a DS213+ (2 x 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 - RAID0) and I need more space and redundancy (I made the mistake to underestimate my storage needs). Basically I use my NAS as Download Station + Plex Server. My hardware setup should be: - Supermicro A1SAi-2750 - 16GB ECC RAM (Samsung or Crucial) - Case Fractal Design Node 304 or Silverstone DS380 - PSU 450W Volume management: - (step 1) - 3 x 6TB WD Red 1 x 2TB WD Green (already with parking disabled) SHR-1 - (Final Step) - 6 x 6TB WD RED by replacing the WD Green and adding 2 WD RED 6TB My concerns are: 1 - My setup is well supported? Could anyone with same setup share opinions and performances 2 - Does SHR expansion work? (I read that some user are experiencing problem). Any advise/suggestion is welcome. Thank you
