Macelskie Posted September 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2020 After I always had problems getting my Asrock itx j3455 to work with all possible combinations, I was able to install it with 6.2.3 without problems. Unfortunately the server is always unavailable in the network after a few hours. I can't ping it anymore and services like Homebridge are not available, too. After unplugging and rebooting everything is available again for a few hours. In total it always takes about 8 minutes until DSM is found in the network. What can I do to localize the error? I would be very grateful for any help.
jensmander Posted September 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2020 Login via SSH and search for „./xpenoboot“. If it’s present delete it and reboot.
Macelskie Posted September 9, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted September 9, 2020 Unfortunately the folder does not exist in the root directory. I tried the following steps without success: Quote Activate the SSH service in DSM Connect to your Synology with an SSH client (e.g. putty) Enter your credentials (user: admin) Change folder to root (cd /) Delete the folder (sudo rm -r .xpenoboot) Is there anything else I can do? flyride Posted September 9, 2020 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2020 Did you look for it with "ls -la /.xpenoboot" The leading period is the syntax that hides the folder from a regular directory display.
Macelskie Posted September 9, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted September 9, 2020 I tried the user "admin", my normal account and the command "sudo su", but I only see the following directory content. Am I doing something wrong?
flyride Posted September 9, 2020 Share #6 Posted September 9, 2020 Nope, the offending file is gone. Have you rebooted your NAS since completing the items in post #3? Is the issue still happening?
Macelskie Posted September 9, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted September 9, 2020 The error occurred again afterwards - yesterday evening the NAS was available for about 5 hours and this morning it was not. I have now removed my second network card once and deleted all known devices in the DHCP server, I would like to exclude that it was caused by the additional Intel Pro network card. Can I try anything else?
Macelskie Posted September 26, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted September 26, 2020 Removing the second network card did not improve the situation. Are there still things I can try?

All my problems were actually caused by a buggy Ram. Since I replaced it, the NAS has been running perfectly. Thanks!
