indyslim Posted July 27, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2020 Hi, I had a few basic questions about how Xpenology works. Where is the USB boot drive equivalent in a Synology NAS? Is the boot information in an embedded disk? or is it in the hard drives themselves? In Xpenology, once the system has booted and is running, is there any active access to the USB boot flash drive? I wonder because, I worry about the life of the boot disk if there are constant reads/writes happening. Is it possible to set-up a back up USB boot disk that will kick in if the main USB stick fails? thank you
