Nuc7i5BNB don't start after updating to 6.2.3 using Jun 1.03b loader on 3615xs

Recommended Posts

Hello, don't know if someone can help me. Because with the previous version 6.1.7 was working perfectly fine. For the 6.2.3 there was not expected a driver problem or anything but now, I cannot see it starting with the new version.  Tried with the extra.lzma on Jun 1.03b and with the extra3615_v0.11_test. I installed the 6.2.3 using the own Synology assistant and reboot with the USB/loader but I cannot see nothing started, even nothing in the LAN using find.synology.com. I attached my report on the Update topic. Any ideas? Something to try? Thanks in advance

Hardware info: Installation type: BAREMETAL - Nuc7i5BNB (J3144-303) | Intel i5-7260U | 16 GB RAM | Ehternet Intel I219V Gigabit

1.03b loader an dsm 6.2.x need CSM/legacy mode and need to boot from the usb legacy device (often legacy is a additional option and you see usb as uefi and legacy device, depends on bios)

is also documented in the tutorial section i a pinned entry

https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/13333-tutorialreference-6x-loaders-and-platforms/

edit: with that hardware you could also use 918+ loader 1.04b, that works with uefi

Hello, it looks the Legacy mode doesn't work for me. However, I could start the process with the loader 1.04b. I migrated it (not reinstalled). So thanks for that @IG-88, I could make progress.

The bad news, the 2 factor authentication was enabled. Now, trying to connect/login, the Synology tells me that the 6-digit code is incorrect (but is not true) I don't have the SSH enabled. So, now I have the installation/migration done but I cannot access to the Synology. That makes me crazy! Looking for a solution for this (not found yet)

No Email notification enabled either, so really stuck. Thinking about to restore or reinstall in any way but not sure about how and the consequences. I'd like not to lose the data but I have a backup. Don't mind if I have to restart from scratch but with the DSM 6.2.3 of course

in theory you could boot from a external usb recovery system mount the system partition and activate ssh, the reboot into dsm and might be able to login

if you are willing to losse the config (but not the data) then use the 2nd option in the grub menu you see at start, install the pat file (this will overwrite the system partition) and you should be back to defaults

I chose to try this one @IG-88 Doing a "reinstallation" with the DSM_DS918+_25426.pat file. It starts the process, over 34-40%, returns to the "migrate" or "reinstall" screen and shows the following message: Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13)

Trying with the latest version (not included a pat file), the same but shows the following message: Failed to download the DSM installation file. Please check the network connection and try again. (46)

Any ideas? I don't mind even to lose the data. Like a fresh install if there is not option. Thanks in advance

Trying migration option (again), is the same for Reinstallation. I think was removed the basic files with the last actions. So blocked on it now. I cannot reach login screen anymore. How to do a fresh install (if there is no other option)? any recommendation @IG-88?

Firstable, thanks for help @IG-88 I could finally, one of the time I restarted and try again, "reinstall" the system. However, it was keeping the personal data. I tried to create again all the users but was a mess (on the system, mixing data) Now, reset the system. Now, the Nuc is shutdown sometimes due to heat control. Any ideas or recommendations?
