Macros Posted February 9, 2015 #1 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) For the past to days I am trying to create a bootable USB key for my custom XPEnology build machine. It is curently on 5.0 Beta with Trantor boot. But no mather what I do I can not get a bootable USB. I am using Win32diskimager, both Windows 7 x64 and Windows XP x86 machines, multiple USB keys. I tried latest XPEnoboot_DS3615xs_5.1-5022.2.img, downloaded multiple times. When booting I get "Boot Error". Thats it, just boot error. If I create boot USB with trantor's 5.0 Beta image it is bootable. I wouldn't expect but is this since I am updating from 5.0 Beta? Any ideas? Edited February 15, 2015 by Guest
Macros Posted February 14, 2015 Author #2 Posted February 14, 2015 Nobody with any ideas? Well, I've tried booting from a BOOT DVD and external DVD drive and it works. But Booting from this is not an option, I need it to get working with boot from USB.
htpcdude Posted February 14, 2015 #3 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) I had the same problem going from Nanoboot to XPEnoboot on one of my motherboards. I got it working by going into the BIOS, Boot, USB Mass Storage Emulation Type and changed the setting from "Auto" to "All Fixed Disc" Edited June 3, 2015 by Guest
Macros Posted February 15, 2015 Author #4 Posted February 15, 2015 Thanks for the tip! It solved my issue. Boot menu now pops up and then it boots.
