lscangus Posted February 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2015 Hi all. I have searched and searched . Followed the guide : http://www.xpenology.nl/installation-dsm-5-1/ The upgrade is successful, but for some reason i wasn't asked to type in admin user name and password, and also, the Unit failed to boot into DSM after installation. I have selected to upgrade. so no data has been wiped. please help!
MarsManden Posted February 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2015 From which version did you upgrade? Did you do any customization in the old version? Special settings or packages and so on.
CtrlAltDel Posted February 8, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 8, 2015 If you don't know the password and need to re-enter it the easy way then you could roll back to 5.0 which will prompt you for the user and paw etc. then migrate to 5.1 again. From memory the 5.1 migration doesn't prompt for the user and pw it just assumes you're going to retain the old credentials.
lscangus Posted February 17, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted February 17, 2015 GUYS! Thank you so much for the help! The failed boot is because I was using a Card ready instead of a real USB disk The upgrade was successful from 4.3 to 5.1 straight away. When it first boot. I cant login! And realized that everything is back to default. But luckily. all data is still in there. Just all settings has been reset. May be because of the big upgrade? Now the N54 is back in business! Seems performance is slower in DSM5?
NisSam Posted February 17, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2015 After upgrading to 5.1. 5022-2 ethernet card works only at 100 MBit/sec. What may be wrong? What to check?
