pomf Posted January 27, 2015 #1 Posted January 27, 2015 Hey folks, First of all, I just wanted to say you guys are awesome! I have wanted a high-end Synology NAS for years now and I just saved hundreds of euro by building a low powered NAS based on the J1800N-D2H board from Gigabyte instead of buying a DS214 Play or something. Anyways, I have everything running perfectly on DSM 5.0-4528 Update 2 except Quickconnect which I can't seem to get working. I saw this guide here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1353 but when I mount my boot USB there is no "Vender" file? I'm using Nanoboot-5.0.3.2 DSM 5.0-4528 x64 if that helps. Thanks in advance for your help
terminator2k2 Posted January 29, 2015 #2 Posted January 29, 2015 hi there, if you haven't already upgraded to 5.1 I changed the following in : usbstick boot\grub file: menu_nano.lst change the serial number and add mac: timeout 5 default 0 fallback 1 title Nanoboot (5.0.3.2) DSM 5.0-4528 root (hd0,0) kernel /zImage ihd_num=0 netif_num=4 syno_hw_version=DS3612xs sn=xxxxxxxxxxx mac1=000000000000 vid=0x0EA0 pid=0x2168 loglevel=0 vga=0x305 title Main Menu configfile (hd0,0)/boot/grub/menu.lst I did this first in my windows file explorer , but it didn't apply the changes, so I redone it in the sinology file browser
dynax Posted January 30, 2015 #3 Posted January 30, 2015 for nanoboot, it's under /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg

Did you use the MAC of your NIC or did you use something else? As for the serial, does it have to match the model number? (DS3612xs) Many thanks
