Changing Model

[DS212j]

Hi.

 

I'm have a real DS212j NAS model that I'm using on a daily basis. very happy about it.

is it possible to install Xpenology on my own NAS using\edit the model so it will be like DS212j ?
changed the SN/MAC on my own device on the grub file. I also  edit 'syno_hw_version=DS3617xs '---> DS212J ,  but the synology assistance it still shows as DS3617xs

 

any idea ?

You can’t simply edit the cfg file to change the model. And this isn’t advisable.

 

There are four emulations available:

 

- 916+ / loader 1.02b

- 918+ / loader 1.04b

- 3615xs / loader 1.03b

- 3617xs / loader 1.03b
