Install NAS on PC

Hi, 

i;m newbie. i want to buy synology NAS but i want to know more before buy it. and i've found about xpenology. 

i try bootloader etc....but i when i update the DSM version form NAS in PC...and then cannot start again.

by using from Xpenology to create NAS on PC...can't i update directly from SYnology NAS?. what should i do?

I want to try Active BAckup Suite from Synology (like Active Backup for Business), but some apps from synology didn;t show up

 

pls help

that will depend on the loader version you use, type of the loader (3615, 3617, 918+) and even bios settings (loader 1.03b for 3615/17 cand use uefi, need csm/legacy mode)

and be more specific about what hardware you use and what you installed / tested

something lost in translation?

as you dont have a synlogy system yet, how would you update "from" a synology system?

use dsm 6.2.3 and loader 1.03b or 1.04b (depends on your cpu, see link above)
