matthewharmon102 Posted January 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2015 I have xpenology 5.0.4528 installed using NanoBoot 5.0.3.2 on a HP 54L. I have 1x4tb WD RED drive installed. I want to add an additional 2tb drive, but when I add it to the server, I can create a new volume but it shown up seperatly to my existing volume. is there a way of "joining2 these 2 drives together so they show as 1 volume? holybabel Posted January 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2015 If your volume is shr than you can't add smaller drives then the existing ones. New drives must be same size or bigger.

If you adding 2TB drive to existing 4TB drive and want to see them as one volume, your only option is rebuild the RAID as JBOD. No migration path, it will have to be backed up, rebuild and restored.
