xds40 Posted January 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 6, 2015 When I initially setup my NAS with Xpenology, I used ally favorite 32gb USB drive. Now I have realized the drive kinda needs to be there permanently so should I just copy the image over to a smaller drive that I have? Is it that easy or are there more steps involved? I searched this forum and couldn't find an answer really.

xds40 Posted January 6, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted January 6, 2015 Ok so when I look at the current USB drive that had been attached to the system for booting, it's now a bunch of folders and files. How do I create a disk image out of this?
Dfds Posted January 7, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 7, 2015 Don't worry about the format of the old USB, just use something like win32diskimager to create a new one USB.
koolvn Posted January 9, 2015 Share #5 Posted January 9, 2015 USB only uses for boot so the bigger size the bigger waste. My USB is only 64MB as posted here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3608#p21719
xds40 Posted January 9, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted January 9, 2015 Right, this is why I wanted to get that usb out and use another smaller one. I have successfully done this, thanks!
