will13 Posted December 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2014 Hi guys, I'm having issues installing XPEnology on my Gigabyte E350, I've tried multiple IMG files and USB sticks but each time I get "this is not a bootable disk" error, I've tried ubuntu server and the install menu popped up so I'm unsure whats wrong Any help would be much appreciated
sbv3000 Posted December 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 16, 2014 Hi I'm not familiar with the E350 BIOS, but I would try the following generic checks 1) Boot another machine with the USB stick to check that its bootable and ok 2) Make sure the USB is the first bootable device in the BIOS 3) Disable all other bootable devices in bios 4) Make sure the USB boot option is NOT uefi 5) If the bios has a boot override option, try that and manually select the USB disk Good luck ! will13 Posted December 16, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted December 16, 2014 USB booted fine in main PC For bios the USB is set to main boot, I'm not sure it has the uefi option since I never saw it while going through the bios
sbv3000 Posted December 18, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 18, 2014 ok you could try; disconnect all drives and bootable devices try the usb drive in different usb ports check the usb emulation in the bios (if the option exists) and set to auto or hdd
