H/W Transcoding works very well.

I can confirm this,  Hardware transcoding works well (G4560 and B250)updated extra.lzma on usb after upgrading to 6.2.3

the only problem , no smart info from  hard drives on the LSI SAS 9211-8i (IT), boot/reboot works fine

Can confirm this, /dev/dri returns and H/W transcoding works well (G4620/Z170). Updated extra.lzma «in situ» (via temporary synoboot2 mount) after upgrading to 6.2.3.

1) J4105  ,  G4560  asrock h110-dgs

     ->  dev/dri/ exists , H/W transcoding works well

2) I5-8500t  asus h370i gaming

    ->  dev/dri folder is missing , H/W transcoding failed  ( dsm 6.2.2   dev/dri/ exists , H/W transcoding works well )

bare metal install?

i dont have this on my system with a 9211-8i (IT), there are smart values, i can can run the smart quick test and get a healty

the driver used atm is from kernel 4.4.59

i will try to compile a more recent and see it it works, if not i still can put back jun's driver from initial 1,04b loader, should also work

Asrock J5005-itx (baremetal)

Boot OK, /dev/dri/ exists, activation.conf OK

But HW transcoding doesn't work.

Maybe i915 driver in 6.2.3 doesn't fit with uhd605

Asrock J5005-itx (baremetal)

Boot OK, /dev/dri/ exists, activation.conf OK

But HW transcoding doesn't work.

Maybe i915 driver in 6.2.3 doesn't fit with uhd605

My Asrock J5005-itx (baremetal)

Boot OK, /dev/dri/ exists, activation.conf OK

and H/W transcoding work well.

Just updated my ASROCK J4105-ITX to 6.3.2 with you drivers. All looks finally fine now (in 6.2.2 it was not possible to get hw transcoding working):

Do it manually

synocodectool --activate_codec hevc_dec --pkgname videostation

than check again, manual activation of one codec activates them all normally. If just this one, do the same for every codec one by one

手动执行

除了再次检查外,手动激活一个编解码器通常会全部激活它们。如果只是这个,则对每个编解码器一一进行

它不起作用

IG-88@ would you recompile the driver pack for 6.2.3 for 1.03b/3615/3617? thx

for now you can use the driver that come with 1.03b loader

i will recompile the set i had for 6.2.2 with newer intel and some 10G drivers later (maybe next weekend)

this thread is about driver problems, if you have devices under  /dev/dri then its that's a case closed here

please move your problem to the software section, maybe this can help

hi , thank you  IG-88 , "updated 6.2.2 to 6.2.3 and now have problems like no network after boot, no proper shutdown/reboot or missing /dev/dri (hardware transcoding) then you just copy the new extra/extra2"   DSM 6.2.3-25423 works very well

I use jun's loader 1.04b DS918+ with this package 0.10 on:

Supermicro X10SLM+-F

i3-4150t

Onboard SATA for SSD Cache

LSI 9211-8i for HDD

SMART for the 9211-8i is not working, everything else seems to be working (no /dev/dri but I don't use it and don't know if it was there with 6.2.2)

New installation to Q1900M, extra v0.10 + rd.gz and zimage Dsm 6.2.3.
Slow boot, but everything works, H/W Transcoding works very well.

Thank you @IG-88

Yes, thank but could you please help me check why nas can't shutdown/reboot ?

i thought you had network problems, i dont see anything what could cause shutdown problems like a crashed driver

did it work with dsm 6.2.0 and 6.2.2?

i kind of expected this, no clue but the only option seem to be to look into kernel parameters you can use within the grub.cfg

whats the hardware, there was no info in dmesg, just J1900 , check if there are any updates for your systemboard

you could also try 3615/17 if shutdown works (only needed if you are willing to loose hardware transcoding)
